Every year, schools spend more than £9 billion on the procurement of goods and services but now new research reveals the majority are being short-changed. 

  • Research reveals up to £1 billion is lost every year through poor procurement practices
  • Up to £400 million could be saved through smarter collaborative purchasing
  • Inner London tops the worst performing region in the English Schools' Procurement League Table
  • South West is best performing region, with East Midlands a close second
  • Photocopiers, ICT and utilities costs are the most challenging for schools to find the best deals
