Gloucester schools sign up to the Schools' Buying Club

Thirty-six schools across Gloucester have signed up to our
procurement service, which it is hoped will save thousands of
pounds on already squeezed budgets.

investigates the computer supply companies whose directors have
grown rich signing up hundreds of schools across the country to
deals that have taken them to the brink of bankruptcy. Parents are
usually unaware that their school can be carrying debts of up to
£1.9 million for overpriced or sub-standard equipment. Here's our
thoughts.
Schools urged to seek advice on making most of budgets

As teachers and pupils return for the start of the new academic
year, data from the Department for Education reveals that if
schools undertook better procurement practices or clubbed together
locally, they could on average each plough back up to £100 per
pupil to pay for more teaching and learning resources.
